Styling and Photography Task
The lecture on March 21st, we were ask to bring in clothes and props in order to complete a styling and photography task, with the help of guest lecturers. We were each given a camera in our pairs and could then chose to take pictures around the university building or with the backdrops provided.
My partner and I chose to walk around the uni to see if there was any areas that would look good for our pictures. We first began trying some pictures in the lift as we thought that this would be a cool and edgy background. Some of the pictures came out good, however, the lightening wasn't great so we decided have another look around for some more spots.

We began attempting some pictures on the stairs, but again the lighten was not complimenting the pictures and the angles began to look awkward. After this, we found a small corner with a mix of yellow toned tiles and a white wall which would look good for the background. This ended up being a great and edgy spot for our images.
After walking around the uni, we decided to go and use the backdrops that were provided for us. The two of us decided to use the mirrored prop that was there and also use the different coloured acetate which created different tones. The coloured lighting, along with the an outfit change into a glittery dress resulted in more funky themed pictures.
Overall, I found this task extremely helpful for the upcoming shoots and filming for our Northern Soul brief, as it was a good and informative introduction into styling and photography which is need for our film.
