Guest Lecture - Weekend Studios

The guest lecture with Weekend Studios, taught us the vital steps in organising and making sort films and videos. 

They focused and emphasised the importance of pre planning and story boarding, so everyone knows what to do and what the shoot is about when it comes to filming. 

We were shown many of the promotional videos that Weekend studios have worked on, so we could see the work that they have done but also to see what the pre planning leads to.

The small task that we were given was to chose one/two of their videos and analyse. We need to look closely at the brand/purpose of the video, concept, narrative, technical skills/direction, location, styling, MUAH and models/casting. Within our pairs we made notes for each of these points from the North Face - Pinnacle Project video. After we had made looked closely at the video, we all discussed our findings and listened to what others had found in the other videos. 

I found that this task and guest lecture was extremely helpful with going forward with out Northern Soul module as I am now aware of what I need to think about and prepare for the 60 second film that we need to create. However, the information that we were given will also help in the future.
